Fitness Assessment

 

Prior to beginning your training with Dr. McCarthy, you will receive a fitness assessment which includes a medical history intake, physical measurements of body fat, weight, muscle strength, stability, muscle imbalances, posture, flexibility, a detailed description of your food cravings, water intake, food consumption, current activity level, and a thorough evaluation of your goals.  This information permits Dr. McCarthy to design a fitness program catered to your needs in order to help you obtain optimum results.

 

 

Your Training Sessions

 

Prior to beginning each session, you should be warmed up by spending five to ten minutes on the treadmill, bike, elliptical machine, etc.  Once warmed up, Dr. McCarthy will show you corrective stretches as well as self-myofascial release techniques to improve any muscle imbalances that you may have, allowing your muscles to function properly during the training.

 

Depending on your personal fitness goals, Dr. McCarthy will incorporate weight training, free weights, core stability balls, cables, and other training modalities that will get you the fastest results.

 

After finishing postural and core work, Dr. McCarthy will show you full-body stretches that you can complete after your training session to improve muscle flexibility and help reduce soreness.

 

Dr. McCarthy wants his clients to enjoy exercise as much as possible, so he keeps workouts upbeat and fun so that his clients leave each training session feeling better and more energized.
